Speed and duration are reciprocal
2× makes the result about half as long; 0.5× makes it about twice as long.
Pitch changes too
The implementation resamples audio to change time, so pitch follows speed. This is honest and predictable but different from podcast-style pitch-preserving time stretch.
Use moderate changes
Small adjustments are easier to understand and tend to create fewer artifacts.

Use the derivative for a specific playback need; preserve the original for other edits.
