Terms of use.

Using OpenFileTools

OpenFileTools is an independently operated collection of browser-based file utilities and related educational content. By using the site, you agree to these Terms. Features, supported formats, and guidance may change over time.

User responsibility

You are responsible for reviewing every output, following the requirements of any destination service, and deciding whether a processed file is suitable for your intended use. Automated checks and guidance cannot replace your own review.

Original files and backups

Keep your original files and appropriate backups. OpenFileTools is not a file-storage or backup service, and processing or downloading a result does not preserve your source file for you.

Acceptable use

Do not use OpenFileTools to violate applicable law, infringe another person's rights, distribute malicious content, interfere with the service, or attempt unauthorized access to the site or its supporting systems.

Copyright and permission to process files

Only process files that you own or have the right or permission to use and modify. You retain responsibility for the files you choose to process. OpenFileTools branding, site content, and original interface materials remain protected by applicable intellectual-property law.

Marketplace disclaimer

Marketplace presets, readiness checks, and background estimates are informational aids, not approval guarantees. Rules may change and category-specific requirements may apply. OpenFileTools is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Shopify, or other marketplaces referenced on the site.

No warranty

OpenFileTools is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the service or its outputs will be uninterrupted, error-free, fit for a particular purpose, or accepted by another service.

Availability and service changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue tools, formats, guidance, or other parts of the service. Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, browser limitations, network conditions, or circumstances outside the operator's control.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, OpenFileTools and its operator will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar losses arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the service. This includes lost files, lost data, lost revenue, interrupted business, or rejection by a marketplace or other third party. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service changes. The date at the top of this page identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means the revised Terms apply to future use of the service.
