Container tells only part of the story
Two MP4 files can carry different codecs, dimensions, bitrates and metadata. Inspect tracks rather than relying on the extension.
Rotation and dimensions can differ
Coded dimensions describe stored pixels; display dimensions account for orientation and aspect information.
Bitrate metadata may be approximate
Track metadata can omit or misstate bitrate. Treat it as a useful field, not guaranteed forensic truth.
