Marketplace Product Image Workflow: One QA Pass for Multiple Stores

Prepare one product-photo batch for Amazon, Etsy, eBay, Shopify, Google Merchant Center, and TikTok Shop without duplicating work.

Start with a master product-photo set

Keep the highest-quality originals as your source of truth. Marketplace exports should be derivatives, not the only copies you retain.

  • Use consistent lighting and framing across the batch.
  • Avoid repeatedly re-encoding an already compressed marketplace image.
  • Keep layered or transparent masters when they matter to future editing.

Separate hard limits from review flags

A useful multi-market workflow distinguishes measurable technical limits from recommendations and human content rules. A matrix is valuable only when each status means something clear.

  • Failures should identify a hard technical problem.
  • Warnings should explain a recommendation or automated estimate.
  • Human-review items should never be presented as automatically approved.

Create destination variants from the same source

Different marketplaces have different practical working targets. Exporting from the same original reduces quality loss and makes filenames easier to manage.

  • Do not upscale a weak source just to hit a nominal target.
  • Keep destinations in separate folders inside the ZIP.
  • Inspect at least one exported file before uploading a whole catalog.

Use the matrix as a preflight, not approval

Marketplace moderation can consider category, product accuracy, prohibited overlays, intellectual property, and other rules that an image processor cannot know. Treat automated checks as preflight evidence rather than a guarantee.

Keep seller assets local

OpenFileTools analyzes source files and builds variants in the browser. Product photos do not need to be uploaded to a third-party image utility before you upload them to the marketplace itself.
