Waveform and spectrum are different
A waveform plots amplitude over time. It is excellent for seeing pauses and dynamics, but it does not show which frequencies are present.
Binning makes long files practical
Instead of drawing millions of samples, the analyzer stores min/max/RMS statistics for time windows. That preserves useful envelope shape without huge browser memory.
RMS gives context to peaks
Peak amplitude finds the largest excursions; RMS is a rough energy measure. Neither alone equals perceptual loudness.
CSV keeps the analysis reusable
The exported bins can be graphed or inspected in Excel and other tools without needing the audio file in OpenFileTools again.
