Preview appearance, not guaranteed Google output
Search engines can rewrite titles, descriptions and displayed URLs. The preview helps authors judge readability and truncation risk; it cannot predict the exact rendered result a search engine may choose.
Write for the query and the page
A concise title should identify the page's unique purpose. The description should explain the value of visiting without stuffing every synonym into one sentence.
Treat pixel/character checks as signals
Different characters occupy different widths and search interfaces change. Length warnings are practical editorial guidance rather than ranking rules.
Keep one canonical intent
If two pages would use nearly identical titles and descriptions, reconsider whether both URLs deserve to exist. Strong internal intent ownership usually beats doorway-page proliferation.
