Why Amazon Product Images Look Blurry

Diagnose source resolution, focus, compression, enlargement, and storefront display issues before exporting another Amazon image.

Blur often begins before upload

Missed focus, camera movement, digital zoom, screenshots, and aggressive earlier compression can all remove useful detail. Resizing software can change dimensions but cannot reverse those capture problems.

  • Compare with the original camera file.
  • Inspect fine edges and product text at 100%.
  • Avoid repeatedly saving a JPG through multiple tools.

Storefront previews are not the source file

Amazon can create responsive display versions for different contexts. A small browser preview may look softer than a zoomed view, while a low-resolution source can still look acceptable in a thumbnail and fail when enlarged.

  • Check the final listing on more than one screen.
  • Separate thumbnail appearance from zoom readiness.

Fix the earliest weak link

If the original is sharp and large, export proportionally with a suitable longest-side target. If the original itself is soft, retake it with better light and stability instead of relying on enlargement.
