Upload Ready Studio – File Preflight & Preparation

Turn portal requirements into explicit checks, prepare JPG/PNG/WebP files locally, and re-validate the actual result before upload.

Files stay on this device. Requirement text, file bytes, previews, and generated copies are processed only in your browser.
1

Define the destination

Turn portal instructions into explicit checks.

Paste the instructions for a deterministic helper, or configure every requirement manually. Detected values are suggestions—not an official interpretation of the portal.

File size range

Minimums are checked but never satisfied by adding meaningless padding bytes. 1024 KB = 1 MB.
Accepted formats
Leave all unchecked when the destination accepts the current format.

Inspect the source

See what passes before changing anything.

Define the destination rules, then choose a file.

Why this tool is different

Most upload failures are not one problem: a file can have the wrong format, too many bytes, the wrong pixel dimensions, an unexpected aspect ratio, missing DPI metadata, too many PDF pages, or a filename the portal rejects. Upload Ready Studio turns those instructions into a visible checklist, changes only supported properties, and validates the actual output again instead of assuming the transformation worked.

Requirements and recommendations

Build the preflight from the destination's real instructions

  • Paste portal instructions into the deterministic helper or configure the limits manually.
  • Review every detected value; the helper extracts obvious numbers and format names but does not claim to understand legal or platform policy.
  • Choose the source file and compare measured facts with the configured requirements before processing.
  • Download only after the generated copy is rechecked and marked READY, or review any remaining failures explicitly.
How OpenFileTools processes it

Local processing, explicit choices.

Requirement text is parsed with deterministic local patterns only. File inspection and image preparation run in browser memory. JPG/PNG/WebP results are encoded locally, optional DPI metadata is written locally, and the actual bytes, dimensions, format, filename, and configured limits are checked again. PDFs are inspected with the existing local PDF engine and use private browser handoff to specialist tools when a structural change is required.

Preflight against the destination rules first

Enter the file requirements published by the form, portal, marketplace, application, or recipient before changing the source. Upload Ready Studio checks the selected file against the rules you configure and separates measured PASS/FAIL results from requirements that are not applicable to that file type.

  • Paste requirement text only as a deterministic helper; detected values remain editable suggestions.
  • Custom requirements are the source of truth in V1. OpenFileTools does not invent official portal limits.
  • The source file stays local in the browser and is never overwritten.

Prepare supported images, then recheck the actual output

JPG, PNG, and WebP files can be resized, proportionally fitted or cropped, re-encoded toward a byte ceiling, renamed, and—where supported—written with requested DPI metadata. The generated file is measured again after processing so READY describes the actual download, not an estimated plan.

  • Exact dimensions offer Fill/crop, Fit inside, and Stretch as explicit choices.
  • Changing DPI metadata does not create additional image detail.
  • When the original already passes the technical checks, the workflow preserves its pixel bytes instead of recompressing it just to change the filename.

Keep PDF structure changes in specialist tools

PDF page removal, compression, and PDF-to-image conversion are routed to the existing specialist tools so fidelity and structural tradeoffs remain visible. Upload Ready Studio can inspect PDF size and page count, preserve an already-ready PDF, and carry the file into the appropriate local workflow when a check fails.

  • A document-wide DPI requirement is not treated as meaningful for PDF.
  • READY covers only the requirements you configured; it never guarantees that an external service will accept a submission.
Frequently asked

Questions, answered.

Can I paste requirements from an upload portal?

Yes. The helper can detect obvious limits such as maximum KB/MB, formats, dimensions, DPI, page count, and simple filename rules. Treat every detected value as an editable suggestion and compare it with the original instructions.

Does READY guarantee the website will accept my file?

No. READY means the file passes the requirements you configured and OpenFileTools could measure. External services can have additional checks that are not published or represented here.

Will exact dimensions distort my image?

Not by default. Fill/crop preserves proportions and trims edges; Fit inside preserves the full image and may add background. Stretch is available only as an explicit distortion-prone choice.

Are my application files uploaded to OpenFileTools?

No. Inspection and supported preparation happen in the browser, and specialist handoffs use the existing short-lived browser-local Smart File mechanism.
