Export Shipment Milestone Tracker

Track shipment handoffs, planned/actual dates, owners, references and issues from booking through delivery and payment without sending data to a carrier.

A milestone log is not carrier tracking. This browser-local workspace records the dates, owners and references you enter. It does not call a carrier, customs system or port terminal.

VGM belongs before vessel loading.

For packed containers subject to SOLAS VGM, the shipper must provide verified gross mass sufficiently in advance for the stow plan. Trade Studio tracks the checkpoint; it does not perform or certify the weighing.

Why this tool is different

The gap between documentation and cash collection is shipment execution. This local milestone workspace records who owns each handoff and what actually happened without claiming access to a carrier, customs or port system.

Requirements and recommendations

Track the operational evidence

  • Record booking, dispatch, customs, gate-in, departure/arrival and delivery milestones.
  • Add actual dates and references when each event completes.
  • Use Issue status and notes for exceptions rather than silently overwriting planned dates.
How OpenFileTools processes it

Source-backed inputs, explicit assumptions.

Milestones are stored in this browser and can be downloaded as JSON. The tool includes a VGM checkpoint because SOLAS makes verified gross mass a condition for loading applicable packed containers.
